Bronx Children’s Museum put on its annual Dream Big Concert on Saturday, August 6, 2011 celebrating the completion of it's second summer of children's workshops at community centers throughout the borough with a day of activities. Hosted by Hostos Community College, the message aiming high was reinforced by honoree, United State Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin and surprise guest, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Above (back row l-r) artistic director Nancy Friedman, Dr. Benjamin, Congressman Jose Serrano, mistress of ceremonies Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street’s Maria), Justice Sotomayor and Artistic Director Yvette Martinez posed with children from Scan. This was a collaboration with One World Arts, Pregones Theatre and Bronx Children's Museum.
